Anne Virginia Duffy Weldon, 95, passed away on December 29 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. She was born in Columbus on July 3, 1922 to the late TJ and Anna Duffy, the youngest of their six children. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, William; children: Marilyn (Raymond) Pongonis, William (Mary) Weldon, and Susan (David) Bennett; grandchildren: Raymond (Meighan) Pongonis, Jr., Katheryn Anne (Jason) Pongonis Shough, Billy and Elizabeth Anne Weldon, and Brittany Anne and Tyler Bennett; great grandchildren: Charlie and Brady Pongonis and Emerson Anne and Charlotte Shough; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Anne graduated from Rosary High School in 1939 and the College of St. Mary of the Springs in 1943. She was a member of St. Agatha Catholic Church, where she served as parish secretary for many years. Known to her family as "Grandma Pie", she will be remembered fondly as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother; proud of her Irish heritage and Democratic voting record; strong in her Catholic faith; and the best pie maker and cookie baker of all time. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Agatha Catholic Church where the family will receive friends after 9 a.m. Burial to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery by Egan-Ryan Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Anne’s memory to St. Agatha Church, 1860 Northam Road, Upper Arlington, OH 43221.
