James “Jim” Thomas Doyle, age 86, born in Columbus, Ohio on April 5, 1930, passed away on February 16, 2017. Jim graduated from Saint Charles Borromeo Preparatory High School in 1948 and attended The Ohio State University. Ever the entrepreneur, he built Timbreridge Lake, a 125 acre lake in Southern Ohio, which is now part of the Wayne National Forest; he also participated in a number of other business ventures throughout his life. A man of many talents who was proud of his Irish heritage, he found joy in life and adventure. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, past member of the Knights of Columbus, the Shamrock Club of Columbus, and the Ancient Order of Hibernians; he was also designated a Kentucky Colonel. Preceded in death by parents Dr. Francis J. Doyle and Mary McCullaugh (Egger) Doyle; brothers, Daniel Francis Doyle, David Edward Doyle, sister, Donna Marie (Doyle) Haddox and former spouse Mary Lou Doyle. Member of St. Pius X Catholic Church located in Reynoldsburg, Ohio. Survived by his sons Sean (Sheila) Doyle and James Jr., daughter Bridget (Josh) Dempsey; grandchildren Brittney Doyle and Grace Dempsey; brothers, Lawrence Doyle, Michael Doyle and Francis (Hilda) Doyle, and former spouse and caregiver, Jeanne Doyle, many nieces and nephews.
