William D. Greene

William (Billy) D. Greene, age 62, died suddenly Sunday, August 24, 2025 at his residence.  He was employed by Franklin County Department of Disability. Billy loved The OSU Buckeyes and Cincinnati Reds, and attended as many games as possible. He was a lifelong and faithful member of St. Catharine Church,  and beloved resident of the Eastmoor neighborhood. He was loved and supported by his many neighbors and in return was a great friend. Billy received the “Eastmoor Neighbor of the Year” award for over ten consecutive years and also the “Entrepreneur of the Year” award for his community grass cutting business. The family would like to thank all of Billy’s caregivers especially Brooks Homes Supported Living and Franklin County Services.  Billy was preceded in death by his parents Nelson and Patricia Eidson Greene.  He is survived by siblings Nelson (Jane) Greene, Stephen (Sheila) Greene, Thomas (Joni) Greene and Susan (Robin) Peterfy; Aunt Mary Anne Greene; many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends including Mike Kroll.  Friends may call Thursday 4-6 pm at the EGAN-RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 403 E. BROAD ST. and Friday 10 – 11 am at St. Catharine Church, 500 S. Gould Rd. where the Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM.  Burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.    Friends who wish may contribute in Billy’s memory to SPICE (Special People In Catholic Education) at St. Catharine Parish, 500 S. Gould Rd., Columbus, OH 43209.
