Trudy A. Hebert

Trudy A. (Liechti) Hebert, age 89 of Columbus, Oh died Oct. 10, 2021 peacefully at home.  Born Dec. 16, 1931 in Winslow Ill. Preceded in death by husband of 58 years, Peter Hebert, son Alex, parents Walter & Johanna Liechti who were Swiss Immigrants and brother Dr. Werner Liechti.  Trudy grew up in Darlington, WI and later attended Mercy School of Nursing in Dubuque, Iowa where she worked as an RN and later in Columbus.  Survived by 5 children Chris (Sue), Tom (Amy), Emilie, Mary (Jay) Cheplowitz, Trudi (Mazda) Salamanian and 10 grandchildren, Aaron, Andy, Alana(Jeremy) Hecht, Halle Cheplowitz, Jack and Patrick Mahoney, Joseph, Nicole, Oliver and Belle Hebert and special friend Marjorie Kurt. Trudy loved gardening, knitting, cats, antiques, reading and traveling. She was an avid letter writer and stayed in touch with many cherished relatives, friends and classmates in the US, Switzerland, Russia and Australia.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Mt. Carmel Hospice, Operation “Smile”, PBS/OSU and the Catholic Diocese of Cols St Joseph Cathedral.  Friends may call Saturday from 3-5 p.m. at Egan-Ryan Funeral Home, 403 East Broad Street where a Funeral Service will begin at 5 p.m.  Private burial at St. Joseph Cemetery.
