Tricia Sue Wagy
August 21, 1963 – October 29, 2025
Beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, Tricia passed away peacefully in her home in Columbus, Ohio, surrounded by her family after a long and courageous battle with ALS.
Tricia is survived by her devoted husband, high school sweetheart and full-time caregiver, Joseph Wagy, and their four children — Adell, Bridget, Shane, and Colleen — who were her greatest joy and life’s purpose. She was, without question, the best mom in the world.
Tricia was known for her high spirits, warmth, creativity, and humor — and for the way she made everyone she met feel seen and adored.
She loved jamming to 80s rock, specifically with her CanCougars, and adored all holidays, big and small (and of course, the décor that came along with them). She loved a theme, lived for a party, and left behind a trail of shamrocks wherever she danced next. Her laugh was loud and contagious, her talent for softball unmatched, and her love for cats, horror movies, crafts, fashion, and the Ohio State Buckeyes made her truly one of a kind.
Her life was a constant expression of selflessness and generosity, reminding us that there is always something worth celebrating. She spent her final years, as she had her whole life, putting others before herself — asking about them, praying for them, celebrating them, and thoughtfully gifting them.
Tricia was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Sue Dell Thoman, and her brother, Timothy Thoman.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph Wagy; her four children, Adell (Timothy) Miller, Bridget Wagy, Shane Wagy, and Colleen Wagy; her siblings, Todd (Ana) Thoman, Terese Marinelli, Taryn (Dennis Wilcox) Thoman, Tierney (Carson) Reider, and Tracy Thoman; and countless additional family and friends.
A special thank you to Jen, Kat, and Carmen for their loving care of Tricia during her illness.
Tricia’s legacy of strength, faith, and unconditional love will be upheld and honored by her family and all who were lucky enough to know her. Those beautiful green Irish eyes will remain smiling.
