Stephen J. Smith

Stephen J. Smith, 71, of Columbus, passed unexpectedly on March 6, 2023.  Steve was an avid music lover and performed as a singer and guitarist for the groups, The Band Dark Horse, Saltwater Cowboys and toured with McGuffey Lane.  Steve’s favorite past time was riding the open road on his Harley.  Steve retired from Kroger as a meat cutter in 2000 and enjoyed building lasting relationships with his customers and coworkers.  Steve was preceded in death by his father, Jack.  He is survived by his wife, Kathy Gucciardo; son, Jonathan Dandino; mother, Ocie Marilyn Smith; sisters, Jackie (Mike) Heiney and Angie (Pat) Jacolenne; brother, Chris (Jenny) Smith.  A Funeral Service will be held 11 am Monday, March 13 at Egan-Ryan Northwest Chapel, 4661 Kenny Road.
