Sr. Valerie Noone

Dominican Sister of Peace Sister Valerie Noone died at Mohun Health Care Center, Columbus, OH on October 11, 2024.  She was born in 1941 and in 1958 entered the Congregation of St. Mary of the Springs, now the Dominican Sisters of Peace. Sr. Valerie earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from St. Mary of the Springs College, now Ohio Dominican University, a Master of Education in Montessori Education from Xavier University in Cincinnati, and a Master of Arts in Religious Studies from Catholic University, Washington, D.C. She ministered as a teacher and school administrator, as Assistant Advancement Director, and in Congregational Service. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ida Feeney Noone, her brothers Bernard, John, and Patrick Noone, and her sister Margaret Duffy.  She is survived by her brother Thomas Noone, her sister Mary Rottino, and nieces and nephews. A vigil of remembrance will be held at 4:45PM on October 28, 2024, at the Dominican Sisters of Peace Motherhouse Chapel, Columbus, OH. The funeral liturgy will be held at the Dominican Sisters of Peace Motherhouse Chapel on October 29, 2024, at 9:30AM followed by burial at St. Joseph Cemetery by Egan-Ryan Funeral Home.  Memorial gifts in Sr. Valerie’s memory may be sent to the Dominican Sisters of Peace, Office of Mission Advancement, 2320 Airport Drive, Columbus, OH 43219 or submitted securely at oppeace.org.
