Sr. Patricia Gavaghan, OP

Dominican Sister of Peace, Sister Patricia (Sr. Mary Agnese) Gavaghan died at Mohun Health Care Center, Columbus, OH on December 12, 2021. She was born in 1938 in New York City and in 1957 entered the congregation of St. Mary of the Springs, now the Dominican Sisters of Peace. Sr. Patricia attended the Thorpe Secretarial School in New York City upon graduating from St. Vincent Ferrer High School. She worked in Food service in Connecticut, Ohio and New York. For seventeen years she ministered as a Driver for the Mohun Health Care Center. She also was a member of the Transportation Team at the Columbus Motherhouse. She was preceded in death by her parents, Patrick and Catherine Crehan Gavaghan, and her sister, Anna Marie Gavaghan. A Vigil of Remembrance Service and wake will be held at 4:45 p.m. on Monday, December 20, 2021 at the Columbus Motherhouse, 2320 Airport Drive, Columbus. The funeral liturgy will be held at the Columbus Motherhouse at 9:00 AM on Tuesday, December 21, followed by burial at St. Joseph Cemetery by Egan-Ryan Funeral Home.
