Dominican Sister of Peace, Sister Maureen T. Cannon died at Mohun Health Care Center, Columbus, OH on June 11, 2024. She was born in in 1933 in Philadelphia, PA and in 1952 entered the Dominican Sisters of St. Catherine de’ Ricci, now Dominican Sisters of Peace. Sr. Maureen earned a BA in Sociology from the University of Albuquerque, an MA in Psychology from Catholic University of America, and an MA in Theology from University of Dayton.She served in ministry in Florida, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin as a Retreat House staff member, in various roles at parishes and Diocesan Offices, as a Campus Minister, and in prayer ministry at the Dominican Ashram. She also served as Director of Formation and as Novice Director. She was preceded in death by her parents Bernard Joseph and Florence Droughman Cannon and her brothers Bernard J. and Joseph Patrick Cannon. She is survived by her brother Paul, her sisters Florence Delaney and Toni Taylor and nieces and nephews. A vigil of remembrance will be held at 6:30 PM on June 28, 2024 at the Dominican Sisters of Peace Motherhouse Chapel, Columbus, OH. A funeral liturgy will be held at the Dominican Sisters of Peace Motherhouse Chapel at 9:30 AM on June 29, 2024. Burial at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Philadelphia, PA at a later date. Funeral services in the Columbus area by Egan-Ryan Funeral Home.
