Sr. Mary Ignatius Rozario, OP

Dominican Sister of Peace, Sister Mary Ignatius Rozario died at Mohun Health Care Center, Columbus, OH on May 17, 2026. She was born in 1930 in Hong Kong and entered the Eucharistic Missionaries of St. Mary’s, New Orleans, now the Dominican Sisters of Peace.

She attended the Maryknoll Convent School and Business School in Hong Kong. She served as a religious educator, pastoral minister, minister to elderly and homebound, census minister and activity coordinator in Arizona, California, Indiana, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel Antero and Hemerita Maria Antonio Rozario, her brothers Filomeno and Francis and her sister-n-law Mariette Rozario. She is survived by her sister Theresa Gutierrez.

A Vigil of Remembrance Service will be held at 4:30 PM on May 26, 2026 at the Dominican Sisters of Peace Motherhouse Chapel, Columbus, OH.

The funeral liturgy will be held at the Dominican Sisters of Peace Motherhouse Chapel at 9:30 AM on May 27, 2026 followed by burial at St. Joseph Cemetery.
