Sr. Mary Claire Kirkpatrick, OP

Dominican Sister of Peace, Sister Mary Claire Kirkpatrick died at Mohun Health Care Center, Columbus, OH on December 10, 2024. She was born in 1939 in Boston, MA and in 1957 entered the congregation of Dominican Sisters of St. Catharine, KY now the Dominican Sisters of Peace. She earned degrees from Boston State College, Fordham University, and New York Theological. She ministered as a teacher and administrator in IL, KY, MA and NY. She served as Area Coordinator in the CCD Office in the Brooklyn, NY Diocese. For a number of years she served as the Director of Religious Education in NY and MA. From 2000-2008, she was Pastoral Associate in Boston, MA and Waltham, MA. She is preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Catherine O’Brien Kirkpatrick. She is survived by her brother, Francis Kirkpatrick. A Vigil of Remembrance Service will be held on December 27, 2024 at 4:45 PM at the Dominican Sisters of Peace Motherhouse Chapel, Columbus, Ohio. The funeral liturgy will be held at the Dominican Sisters of Peace Motherhouse Chapel on December 28, 2024 at 9:30 AM.  Arrangements are by Egan Ryan Funeral Home.
