She graduated from Ohio State University in 1956 and shortly thereafter married and began what would be her mission in life to raise her six children to have a strong faith, to find their path and the importance of family.

She loved to sew and made new Halloween costumes from scratch every year for all six kids. She would make curtains and dresses. She loved to bake and would make birthday cakes that looked like cars, spaceships, and football stadiums. She was a very talented organ player and played the organ for Sunday mass at St. Phillip the Apostle for 15 years. Christmas was her favorite time of year with all her family together and Grab Bag!

When she became an empty nester, she got a job with the Ohio Bureau of Workman’s Comp and worked there for 21 years. While there she created a lunch table in the lobby for not only employees but anyone in need. Shirley looked after the other folks at Knightsbridge as caregiving was her strength and she made many friends there among the residents and staff. As she got older art became her passion. She would draw for hours and hours. It gave her a sense of peace. She will be greatly missed by not only her large extended family but all those she met throughout her life.

A funeral mass will be at Saint Timothy Catholic Church, 1088 Thomas Ln. Columbus, Ohio at 10:30 am March 23rd, 2022.
