Shirley W Fino died peacefully at the age of 94 on August 2, 2024. Shirley was born to Simon and Claire Wilt in Oil City, Pennsylvania. She went on to receive her Registered Nurse Diploma from St. Vincent School of Nursing in Erie, Pennsylvania. She worked as a visiting nurse until she met her husband, Giulio Joseph Fino, whose insurance job took them to Upper Arlington, Ohio, where they raised their three children.
Shirley continued her nursing career at various medical facilities in Columbus, Ohio and was a very compassionate and loving nurse. She was also very active in her church and was a member of the St. Agatha Women’s Club. She also enjoyed singing in the choir, as well as participating in the St. Agatha Golf and Bowling leagues. She went on to play bridge at Griswold Senior Center with her dear friend Marlene.
Shirley is preceded in death by her loving husband of 43 years, Giulio Fino. She is survived by her three children: Frank (Julie) Fino, Stephen (Toni) Fino and Julia (Tom) Redmond, six grandchildren: Jamie (Matt) McClelland, Jessica (Dan) Roads, Fr. Joseph Michael Fino, Tommy (Patricia Jean) Redmond, Danny (Kim) Redmond and Katie (Zac) Lackey, and nine great-grandchildren: Cole, Calen and Nora McClelland, Rylan and Kyler Roads, Neave, Kerry and Will Redmond, Natalie Lackey and sister-in-law Teresa Toscano. She is also survived by extended family members in Bellefontaine, Ohio and numerous friends.
Shirley especially loved being with her family and enjoyed being with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and all the pets!
Family and friends may gather at the Monsignor Kennedy Parish Hall at St. Agatha Church, 1860 Northam Road, Columbus, OH 43221 at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, August 9, 2024. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: St. Vincent de Paul of St. Agatha, Franciscan Friars of the Renewal, or a charity of your choice.
