Sherrie Harris Hickman was born June 20, 1921 in Buffalo, New York the only child of Harold and Marion Hickman. He passed peacefully on July 26, 2016. He was proceeded in death by his parents and his first wife Marjorie who passed away August 15, 1971. He is survived by his wife Cynthia who he has been married to since February 2, 1973, his children, Carol Lehman (Jack) and William Hickman (Kathy). He is also survived by Cynthia’s children Jeffrey Khourie, William Khourie (Lisa), and Cristie Kula as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Sherrie served honorably in the Army Air Corp as a navigator on B-24’s during World War II and flew 35 missions during his 9-month deployment in the European theater. He was separated from military service on September 21, 1945 as a 1st Lieutenant and immediately joined his father in business in Dayton at the Dayton Blue Print Company where he worked until retiring. Sherrie was active in many organizations including the Rotary Club, the Junto Club, Antioch Shrine and the Royal Order of Jesters where he was a past director. Sherrie was also a long time member of Miami Valley Golf Club and established many lifelong friendships. In retirement Sherrie & Cynthia enjoyed living for many years in Florida on the golf course at Del Ray Dunes. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday August 13, 2016 at the EGAN-RYAN FUNERAL HOME NORTHWEST CHAPEL 4661 Kenny Rd. where friends may call from noon until 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
