Scott Douglas King

Scott D King, a devoted husband, father, papa, and an avid Ohio State fan passed away at home on October 16, 2024 at the age of 66. Born on October 19, 1957 in Columbus Ohio to James and Shirley King. Scott attended Walnut Ridge High School. He met his wife Carol King at the Gold Rush Bar in 1982. 

He is survived by his wife Carol King; daughter Sara (Benjamin) Danzig; daughter Stephanie (Patrick) Toole, grandsons Owen, Noah, Parker and granddaughter Madeline; James (Ilene) King; Gary (Jeri) King; and Robin (Randy) Hesse; brother-in-law, Craig (Janet) Tangi; and many nieces and nephews. He is proceeded in death by his parents James and Shirley (Lewis) King; Mother-in-law Florence (Sis) Tangi; Father-in-law James Tangi; and beloved Silky Terrier Chance.

Scott is described as kind, generous, and outgoing to everyone who he came in contact with. During football season, he spent his Saturdays cheering on the Buckeyes and during the week on the soccer field cheering on his grandsons Owen and Noah. Every summer he visited Treasure Island Florida with his family. He was a classic car enthusiast and enjoyed attending car shows. During his younger days you could catch him throwing a softball at Greenlawn Fields.

Friends may visit between 2pm-5pm on Sunday October 20, 2024 at the Egan-Ryan Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 4661 Kenny Road Columbus, Ohio 43220. Funeral mass will be held at 10:30am on Monday, October 21, 2024 at St. Mary Magdalene Church, 473 South Roys Avenue Columbus, Ohio 43204, with Fr. Slawomir Siok, Celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Lockbourne. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may contribute to The American Heart Association in Scott’s memory.
