It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Scott Michael Kellar, who passed away on April 11, 2026, after a courageous battle with liver disease.
Born on May 2, 1979, he brought joy, laughter, and strength to all who knew him. Above all else, he was a devoted father to his six-year-old son, Jaxson, who was truly his whole world. Their bond was unbreakable, and the love he had for his son was evident in everything he did.
He was a passionate sports fan who proudly supported The Ohio State University Buckeyes, the Cleveland Browns, and the Cleveland Guardians. Whether cheering from the stands or watching with family and friends, his enthusiasm was contagious. He also found great happiness in playing golf and spending time fishing—activities that brought him peace and connection with those he loved. He especially loved the beach and looked forward to family vacations each summer, where many cherished memories were made.
He is survived by his son, Jaxson Kellar and Mary Retterer (Jaxson's mom), his loving parents, Charlie (Paula) Kellar and Debbie (Todd) Grant; his siblings, Tracey (Jay) Graham and Charlie Kellar; and his cherished nieces and nephews, Jake, Max, Aidan, Anna, and Chelsea, who knew him as the best uncle anyone could ask for.
He will also be deeply missed by the many friends he made throughout his life. Known for his great sense of humor and natural athletic ability, he had a way of bringing people together, finding ways to make them laugh and smile, and making every moment brighter.
Though his time with us was far too short, his impact will be felt forever in the hearts of those who loved him.
He will be remembered always for his kindness, laughter, and the love he shared so freely.
A Celebration of Life will be held Noon until 2 p.m. Saturday May 2, 2026 at Egan-Ryan Northwest Funeral Home 4661 Kenny Road.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to a fund created for his young son, Jaxson.
