Ruth (Corbett) Whalen

E. Ruth Whalen, age 89, Tuesday March 9, 2021 at home. Born in Columbus daughter of the late Gerald and Mary (Applegate) Corbett. Also preceded in death by her brother Joseph Corbett. Survived by her husband of 45 years, Larry Whalen; sisters-in-law  Carol Kays, Judy Whalen, Barbara (Dan) Scott, Rita (Rick) Wanner, Chris (Kirk) Deken; host of nieces and nephews including Cathy Grosel, Margaret Torr, Michael, Pat and Tom Corbett; other relatives and friends. Retired from the Huntington National Bank. Founding member of St. Joan of Arc Church. Also a member of Wedgewood Country Club. Former docent with the Columbus Zoo. Friends may call 4-7 p.m. Thursday at EGAN-RYAN FUNERAL HOME NORTHWEST CHAPEL 4661 Kenny Rd. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Joan of Arc Church 10700 Liberty Rd. Powell. Burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
