Rosemary Downey Morrissey entered into eternal life on February 21, 2026 at home in Westerville, Ohio surrounded by her loving family. Rosemary was born on January 29, 1942 in Columbus, Ohio to William P. and Kathleen Coyle Downey. Rosemary grew up in Clintonville, where she attended Immaculate Conception Elementary School. She graduated from St. Mary of the Springs Academy and earned BS and MA degrees from The Ohio State University, where she was a member of Delta Zeta sorority. Rosemary married Michael John Morrissey on January 16, 1971. The Morrisseys were blessed with three children, Colleen, Krista, and Brian, and raised them in Worthington, where they provided them with a wonderful childhood. A clinical psychologist by profession, Rosemary was a stay-at-home mother for many years. She was an endless source of love and encouragement for her children. Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, sister Anne Downey Wohlfrom, brother-in-law Arthur Wohlfrom, and sister-in-law Julia Morrissey. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Michael, brother William (Maria) Downey of Cooper City, FL, children Colleen (Brian) Ralph of Mason, Krista (Matthew) Gipson of Grand Rapids, MI, and Brian Morrissey of Columbus. Rosemary was a beloved "Mimi" to eight grandchildren: Cecilia, Alaina, Darcy, Andrew, and Kelly Gipson, and Natalie, Marin, and John Ralph. Friends may call on Friday, March 6 from 5-7 p.m. at Egan-Ryan Northwest Chapel, 4661 Kenny Road. Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 313 North State Street at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2026. Burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
