Roger L Connor, 99 years, passed away peacefully at his home in Naples, FL, on May 14, 2025. Roger was born in Columbus Ohio, to Charles and Stella Connor. He attended St. Charles Preparatory High School, and The Ohio State University, where he met his loving wife, Hannah Goucher, whom he married on November 27, 1948. Together, they raised eight children; Roger Jr, Daniel, Barbara, Michael, Patricia, Kathleen, Mary and Hannah.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 66 years, Hannah, and their two children, Larry and Danny. Additionally, by his parents, Charles and Stella Connor; brothers, Charles, Tom, Jim, and Don; sister, Betty; sisters-in-laws, Helen, Anne, and Barbara Connor. Also, Goucher in-laws, George Shoemaker, William B. Goucher, and Virginia and Herb Lehman.
He is survived by his children, Barbara (Tim) Hickey, Michael Connor, Trish (Bill) Gianakopoulos, Kathy (Mike) Reinertsen, Mary (Jeff) Nappi, and Hannah Connor Moore. He is also survived by daughter-in-law, Margie Connor, sisters-in-law, Ann Connor and Ruth Shoemaker, and many cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Roger had many diverse jobs over the years from ranch hand in Arizona, farmer in Logan Ohio, farm market journalist for many central Ohio papers, Executive Secretary for the Independent Livestock Marketing Association, and lastly, partnering with his two brothers, Charles and Tom, in Buckeye Abstract and Title Agency. He and Hannah retired at age 53 to Marco Island, FL.
At his core, Roger was a devout Catholic and a loving family man. He will be missed and cherished by all who knew him. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Gahanna, Ohio, on Thursday, June 5, 2025. Family will receive callers at 9:30am, with mass to follow at 10:00am; Father Tyler Carter, Celebrant. Luncheon served at the church after mass, with internment at St. Joseph Cemetery to follow.
