Robert J. (Bob) Borchlewicz, 82, of Columbus, died on Sunday, April 11, 2021, at his home.
He was born in Buffalo, New York, to the late Bernard and Regina Borchlewicz. He earned an associate’s degree from Erie Tech, a bachelor’s degree from Drake University and an MBA from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. He retired from both IBM after 34 years and JPMorgan Chase after 10 years. He was a dedicated member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, and volunteered countless hours as a tax preparer for Tax Time of Central Ohio.
In 1962, he married Maryann Odziemiec, also of Buffalo. They lived in Poughkeepsie, New York; Manassas, Virginia; Minnetonka, Minnesota; and West Des Moines, Iowa, before settling in Columbus in 1984. Together, they raised their children, Michael, Judith and Maryann, before her death in 1998.
In 2000, he married Theresa M. (Terry) Benskey.
In addition to his wife, Terry, he is survived by his children, Michael (Kathleen) Borchlewicz, Judith (Dennis) Symalla and Maryann (Steve) Croff; stepchildren Amy (Kyle) Anderson, Emily (Chris) Lamont, Jennifer (Greg) Williams, Katherine (Miguel Berrios) Benskey and Andrew Benskey; 15 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; sister Barbara Vogel; aunt Anne Allan; and a host of beloved friends and relatives.
Friends may call Friday, April 16 from 4-7 p.m. at Egan-Ryan Northwest Chapel, 4661 Kenny Road. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, April 17 at 10:00 a.m., St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 6899 Smoky Row Rd. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to St. Peter Roman Catholic Church Knights of Columbus.
