Rita Ellen (Strapp) Pagura

Rita Ellen Pagura age 90, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2021. She was
born on September 22, 1930 in Columbus, Ohio, the daughter of Frank and Anna
Strapp. She was a long-time member of St. Andrew Parish and a member of St.
Columbkill in Ft. Myers. Rita worked for Ohio Bell and the Columbus City Schools for
many years. She was passionate about her Catholic faith, her family and her Irish
heritage. She enjoyed family gatherings and spending time with her grandchildren and
great grandchildren. Rita loved singing in her church choirs and performing for the
Hartman Theatre. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Preceded in
death by her beloved husband, Fred Pagura, parents Frank and Anna Strapp, brothers,
Frank Strapp, Robert Strapp, and Leo Strapp, sister Marilyn (Strapp) Cain, and son-in-
law, Edward Herrmann. Survived by her loving family son, Stephen (Denise) Pagura;
daughters, Michele (Jeff) Melaragno, Julie (Joe) Ferrara, Jennifer Herrmann, Annie
Pagura, Maria (Gary Tounkara) Pagura, Susan (Brian) Miller; 22 grandchildren and 17
great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Amy Strapp; sister-in-law, Elaine Pagura; brother-in-
law and wife, Robert and Judy Pagura; nieces and nephews and many other family
members and friends. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated for family and friends
