After graduating from St. Charles Preparatory School he attended General Motors Institute in Flint, Michigan where he met his future wife and was married for 63 years. In years to come he became service manager at George Byers & Sons and eventually took a sales rep position at International Trucks. Upon retirement , not one to sit around, he was fortunate enough to get a part-time job at Home Depot in the gardening dept., which of course tied in perfectly with his love of flowers and plants. In his free time he also enjoyed camping, working on his cars, gardening, building and designing anything to make things easier around the house. He loved tinkering and using his mechanical skills to make things work the way he thought they should.
