Obituary

Rex Street, Junior, age 94 of Columbus, Ohio passed away March 12, 2022. Rex was the youngest of five children born to his Father and Mother, Rex and Mae Buck Street, in Johnson City, Tennessee. He is preceded in death by his wife Ernestine and survived by his only son, Scott Street, daughter-in-law Cyndy & granddaughters Sally (Charlie) Wolfe and Kiki (Greg) Kullman, great grandchildren, whom he adored, Olivia, Lucy, Riley, Wolfe and Kyle and Cam Kullman. Rex along with his wife, Ernestine, founded Street Realty company, which is known today as Street Sotheby’s International Realty. Rex was a veteran of the United States Army where he served as a medic during World War II. Rex was a past commander of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary and past Commodore of Gravel Bar Yacht Club on Lake Erie. He, along with his family, enjoyed many years of boating on Lake Erie and vacationing in Marco Island, Florida. Rex coached little league baseball for five years and one of his greatest enjoyments were all of Scott’s friends that he met along the way that still remain friends. Better known to his friends as Skip, and his grandchildren as Papa Bubaball, he will be remembered by his grandchildren and great grandchildren for making the best dough balls, always giving away Huge Hershey bars, and having the world’s best Disney display. We know Rex is in heaven, wearing his Coast Guard life jacket and riding the waves. Words cannot describe how much he will be missed. A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday April 26th at Scioto Country Club 2196 Riverside Dr, Columbus, OH 43221.
