Regina Marie (Cassady) Tharp

Regina Marie (Cassady) Tharp, age 82, passed away peacefully at Mt. Carmel Grove City, Thursday August 10th 2023, after a long battle with breast cancer. Regina was born in Grandview, and was a proud member of the first graduating class of Bishop Watterson High School in 1958. She was an active member of St. Brendan the Navigator Catholic Church since 1960. She worked for Sysco/ Sygma Foods until she retired in 2006. After retirement, Regina was an avid traveler and attended daily Mass at St Brendan.  Prior to her illness, Regina exercised daily at the Hilliard YMCA, even earning a “frequent Y-er” title.  She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

Regina was preceded in death by her husband Archie Tharp, her parents Leona and Norbert Cassady, and brothers Leon, Norbert, Joseph, and Richard Cassady. 

Regina will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She is survived by her children Patrick Tharp, Ann Tharp, and Daniel Tharp (Jennifer), and her grandchildren Samuel and Eleanor Tharp.

She is also survived by her brother Robert Cassady, sister-in-law Rheta (Charles) Ryan, sisters-in-law Carole, Jean, and Sandra, and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call 4-7 p.m. Friday at the Egan-Ryan Funeral Home Northwest Chapel 4661 Kenny Rd. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Brendan Church 4475 Dublin Rd. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
