Rebeca Patton Obituary
Rebeca Patton passed away at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio on June 30, 2025. She was 47 years old.
Born on October 27, 1977, in Cuernavaca, Morelos, México. Rebeca leaves behind her bereaved husband Roger, and two much loved and rambunctious AussiePoos, Nacho and Bruno, who will miss her very much. She is survived by her parents, Rebeca (David) Suarez, Luis (Mati) Alvarez, sister Ana (Wayne) Lovely, two cherished nephews (Gabriel and Sebastian) and a niece (Ana Sofia), as well as many devoted relatives and friends.
She attended St Andrews College in North Carolina, majoring in Chemistry, and was accepted in graduate school at The Ohio State University in Columbus, where she received a Master’s Degree in Organic Chemistry. Subsequently she was hired in the Chemistry Department at OSU, where she worked for over 20 years. In 2017 she received a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from OSU, and a few years later a Master’s Degree in Business Analytics.
To have known her was a true privilege. She faced every challenge in life with extraordinary strength and grace, and her humor and sharp wit had a way of lighting up every room she entered. Her love for family and friends was unwavering—genuine, constant, and filled with warmth. She had a remarkable ability to make others feel seen, cherished, and valued. Though her absence leaves a profound emptiness in our hearts, we are forever grateful to have had the blessing of knowing her. Her spirit remains with us in the love she gave and the joy she shared.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Egan-Ryan Northwest Chapel (4461 Kenny Rd, Columbus OH 43220). Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at 10:00 AM at St. Michael Church (5750 N. High Street, Worthington, Ohio 43085).
