Rachel Bauer Obituary

Rachel Bauer, nee Fournier, aged 87, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Tuesday July 13, 2021.  Rachel was born on January 20, 1934 in Caribou, Maine to the late Ida and Armand Fournier.  Surviving family members include loving husband of 64 years, David; son, Michael (Linda); daughters, Judy (Eric) Sherer and Karen (Michael) Ritenour; grand daughters Amy Richards, Jenny Messer, Megan Sherer, Alison and Emily Ritenour; great grandchildren Eli and Emerson Richards, and Ruthie and Rachel Messer; siblings Doreen McCarthy, Marlene Habeeb, and Franklin Fournier.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by siblings, Delores Sperry, Lorraine White, Rocky Fournier and Raymond Fournier.  Rachel was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  She loved cooking, sewing, family gatherings, annual family vacations at the Outer Banks N.C., birds, children, and nature. Rachel was an active member of St. Andrew parish for over 40 years, a member of the Women’s Club and a Boy Scout Den Mother.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday July 20th at 10 A.M. at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 1899 McCoy Road Columbus, Ohio 43220.    In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rachel’s memory to St. Andrew Catholic Church.  Rachel will be entombed at Resurrection Cemetery in Lewis Center, Ohio.  Online condolences available at www.egan-ryan.com.
