Peter H. Luft

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Peter Luft of Powell, Ohio. Pete passed away on March 19, 2025 at The James Cancer Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, surrounded by his wife, children, and parents. He was 61 years old.

Pete’s family and friends will always remember his warmth, creativity, determination, and sense of humor. He worked for over 30 years at RE/MAX, most recently as their Vice President of Expansion in the U.S. He was known for his many passions — inspiring his team at work, living his Catholic faith, running marathons, traveling with his wife and friends, playing with his dogs, and serving smoked steaks and fine wine to his house guests — but he would tell you his greatest accomplishment and joy was the family he shared with his loving wife of 39 years, Laurie. From family vacations to cozy evenings at home, Pete loved nothing more than spending quality time with his wife and kids.

Pete is survived by his wife, Laurie Luft; his children, Dr. Benjamin (Morgan) Luft, Andrew (Ivy) Luft, Dr. Megan Luft, and Abigail Luft; his parents, Peter H. Luft I and Judie Salyer; a large, loving extended family; and countless friends.

Visitation will be held from 4–7 p.m. on Friday, March 28 at the Egan-Ryan Funeral Home Northwest Chapel at 4661 Kenny Rd. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial for Pete at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 29 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Worthington. A private burial will be held at a later date. In Pete’s honor, donations can be made to Breath of Hope Ohio.
