On Friday, August 15th, on the most glorious feast of the Assumption of Mary, Paulette Ann Bennett was welcomed into eternal life.
Paulette was born on February 19th, 1938, in Tiffin, Ohio to Paul James and Mary Alice (Siefert) Omlor. She married Paul W. Bennett on May 30th, 1960, and soon after welcomed two children. A graduate of Mount Carmel School of Nursing in Columbus, for over 30 years, Paulette worked nights at St. Anthony’s Hospital (now OSU East Hospital), before her retirement as Director of Nursing in 2000. Paulette was deeply devoted to her Catholic faith, an active and dedicated member of the community at St. Catharine’s Parish, and a member of the Secular Franciscan Order. An unyielding advocate of the unborn, she could often be found attending daily mass, walking the neighborhood saying her rosary, and spending time in daily adoration.
Paulette is survived by her children Michael J. (Karla) and Mary Anne Bennett; her grandchildren Mia (Joe) Nedvidek; Luke, Emily, Madeleine, Paul and John Bennett; and great-grandchildren Daniel, Magdalene, Joy, Eleanor, and Henry Nedvidek. Paulette is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Paul W. Bennett, and her sister Ellen M. Distel.
Paulette always relied upon unceasing prayer, the daily rosary, and a close devotion to Our Lady to lead her through life’s trials. Generous with her time and attention, she leaves us all with the lasting impression of a strong faith lived loudly in a humble servant’s life.
