It is with great sadness that we learn of the passing of Paul Jeffrey "Jeff" Behrendt at the age of 68. Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Virginia Behrendt, and his wife, Amy Cornell. He is survived by his 3 children, Heidi, Eric, and Lauren, as well as his brother and sisters, Cathy Fleming, Christine Behrendt, Colleen Marshall, and Andrew Behrendt. He was also survived by his mother-in-law, Barbara Cornell, and many beloved nephews and nieces. Jeff attended St. Augustine Grade School, St. Francis DeSales High School, Kenyon College, OSU, and Franklin University. He worked as an operations manager for UPS for 36 years, as well as sous and demo chef for Giant Eagle for 8 years, and finally as a chef at Bistrolino for the last 2 years of his career. Jeff had a passion for cooking and sharing his food with others, whether it was around the table or the campfire. He was an Eagle Scout and loved to fish and explore new places and foods. He had a wealth of knowledge that he loved to share with others, and he made everyone feel like they were part of his family. One of Jeff's favorite hobbies was entering chili cook-offs, for which he received many awards for his chili and salsa. He will be missed by all who knew him and will always be remembered for his love of cooking, his passion for life, and his ability to make everyone feel special.
