Pat began his career at Western Union where he met his future wife. He then became a barber and worked in that trade for over 60 years at various shops in the Columbus area. Pat also worked several years at Western Electric. He was previously an auxiliary police officer and a councilman for the City of Whitehall. Pat always had a joke to share. He never met a stranger and was loved by all.
In his spare time, he went from one hobby to another and took his wife with him for each one. He went from camping to fishing to bowling to boating to golfing and then to primitive camping. He was an avid gun enthusiast and cherished his friendships at the Columbus Muzzleloading Gun Club in Grove City, Ohio.
The family wishes to thank several individuals. Their joy and laughter has been such a blessing in his final days: Cherie Mann for her unending love, care and support; Bob Cauhanti for his friendship and fellowship; Fr. Steve Fernandes of Christ the King Church; Alicia White and Renee Riley whose thoughtfulness and compassion has been such a blessing to his family; his tenderhearted neighbors, Wally and Dyann Taylor and Carolyn McBride; his empathetic and sweet hospice nurse Sarah Hall; and his oncologist Dr. Jorge A. Rios of Zangmeister.
Patrick was a devout Catholic his entire life and a member of St. Patrick’s Church, Columbus, Ohio, for many years. He and his wife became parishioners at Christ The King Church recently.
