Nancy Rankin born on March 24, 1937, in Columbus, Ohio, and passed away peacefully on May 20, 2026, from natural causes surrounded by her loving family.
Nancy lived a life marked by wisdom, love, and selflessness, and she carried these gifts with quiet strength and unwavering grace. She was a Christian woman whose faith shaped the way she loved, served, and encouraged those around her. In every season of her life, she reflected the goodness of God through her words, her actions, and her steadfast devotion to her family. She was the kind of woman who made people feel seen, valued, and strengthened simply by being in her presence.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Daniel Rankin III, her beloved husband of 62 years, with whom she shared a bond built on devotion, commitment, and enduring love. Their life together became a foundation of faith and family that continued to bless generations. Nancy carried his memory with tenderness, and even in grief she remained a source of courage and comfort for those she loved. Her life was a testimony that true love does not end but lives on in the hearts and lives of those who are touched by it.
Nancy was a devoted mother and a cherished mentor to her large extended family. She is survived by her six children, Daniel Rankin IV (Caroline), Michael Rankin (Carol), Peggy Rankin, Terrence Rankin (Mary), Thomas Rankin (Kathy), and Timothy Rankin (Maria). She was deeply proud of her 19 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart. Nancy found joy in her family’s milestones, comfort in their presence, and purpose in the role she played as matriarch, encourager, and steady guide.
Her family will remember her as a woman of great wisdom, one who knew how to speak truth with gentleness and love. She had a way of offering counsel that was both practical and deeply rooted in faith. She did not merely tell others how to live well but showed them through her example. She taught by the life she lived, by the prayers she prayed, and by the compassion she extended without hesitation. Her selfless spirit was evident in the many ways she cared for others, often placing their needs before her own and doing so with a grateful heart.
Those who loved Nancy will remember her warm heart, her steady faith, and her ability to bring comfort in times of sorrow and joy in times of celebration. She was wise in her counsel, loving in her care, and selfless in her service. Her legacy is written not only in the years she lived, but in the lives she touched and the faith she modeled. She leaves behind a family strengthened by her example and a community blessed by her kindness.
Though her earthly journey has ended, Nancy’s life continues to speak. Her family and friends can take comfort in the promise of eternal life and in the assurance that a life lived in faith is never forgotten. She has gone home to the Lord she loved and served, and her memory will remain a source of encouragement, gratitude, and peace. May those who mourn her be comforted by the hope of Christ and by the enduring love she leaves behind.
