Mary Rose O’Reilly passed away on January 24, 2026 at The Forum at Knightsbridge at age 98. Her religious faith was very important to her. She was a long-time active parishioner of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and helped with the altar linens for many years. She was a member of the OLP Leisure Club, Clintonville Woman’s Club, Breakfast Club, and Red Hat Society. She was preceded in death by parents Frank and Helen Mulbay, husbands Thomas F. O’Reilly and Richard W. Shoemaker, son-in-law, Michael McCabe.
Survived by five children and their families, all of whom she deeply loved and cherished; daughters, Kathleen (Michael Britt); Rita McCabe sons, Thomas Jr. (Harold Birtcher); Bernie (Jennifer); and Shawn (Paula); grandchildren, Collin McCabe(Ann); Kevin McCabe (Maggie), Makaela, Brianna, Moira, and Ellen O’Reilly and Michael O’Reilly Birtcher; great grandchildren, Oona, Emmett, and Cassian McCabe; Lenna Rose O’Reilly; many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Monday, February 2 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Egan-Ryan Northwest Chapel 4661 Kenny Rd. Prayer Service will begin at 4 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial, Tuesday, February 3, 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Church, Dominion and High Streets. Burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
