Martha Ann Garrett, beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness. Marty was born in Columbus, Ohio on November 6, 1945 to Louise (Falk) and Robert Irwin. She is survived by her sons, David and Michael Garrett, her brothers, Bob (Lori), Larry (Alta), Mike (Elenita) Chris (Nan) and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Garrett, her parents, Robert and Louise Irwin, and her brother Pat Irwin. Marty was a devoted wife to Clyde, and a dedicated mother to her sons, David and Michael. Her family was the heart of her life, and her unwavering love and care shaped the foundation of their home. Marty graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in education. A lifelong educator, She found great joy and purpose in teaching. Her love of books and learning extended beyond the classroom. She always had a special book to share with her nieces, nephews, and their children, nurturing in them the same curiosity and imagination that inspired her own life. Marty loved to travel and explore the world, embracing new cultures, and experiences with an open heart and adventurous spirit. Whether playing bridge with friends or discovering a new restaurant, she found delight in life's simple pleasures and shared that joy generously with others. While living in Vallejo California, she professed her Ohio State University Buckeye roots to all of her friends. One of her final joys was to attend the Rose Bowl game and watch the Buckeyes beat Oregon. Marty will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
