Marian Theresa (Finch) Thibaut

Marian Theresa Thibaut, age 88, of Plain City, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on October 10, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Toledo, Ohio on January 19, 1937, Marian was the daughter of the late Victor Finch and Marjorie McCann. She was preceded in death by her beloved husbands, James Henry and Russell Thibaut.

Marian was the proud mother of Patrick Henry (Bonnie) of Naples, Florida; Cheryl Pond (William) of Columbus, Ohio; and Jami Moretti (Timothy) of Plain City, Ohio. Through her marriage to Russell, she was blessed with four stepchildren whom she loved as her own: Glenda Crawford (Patrick), Rhonda Selhorst (Robert), Russell Thibaut and Randy Thibaut (Kimberly) She is also survived by her brother William Finch (Susane), brother John Bixler (Ann), and sister Molly Bixler; along with 15 cherished grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren who were the joy of her life.

Marian built a fulfilling career with Lazarus/Federated/ Macy’s Department Stores, where she excelled in sales and office management. After retirement, she and Russell enjoyed 15 wonderful years in The Villages, Florida, where Marian worked at The Villages Real Estate Office and formed many lasting friendships.

A woman of deep faith, Marian was actively involved in Cursillo since 1973, sharing her piety, study, and action with her sisters in Christ — especially her dear friends Judy and “The Kathys.” Her unwavering devotion, warm spirit, and genuine love for others touched everyone she met. Marian will be remembered for her grace, humor, and the way she made everyone feel like family. She was a devoted friend, a loving mother and grandmother, and a woman whose kindness and faith left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

A Funeral Mass celebrating Marian’s life will be held on Friday, October 31, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Church, 20 E Dominion Blvd, Columbus, Ohio 43214. Family will receive guests beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the vestibule of the church prior to the Mass. Following the service, interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery, 9571 N High St, Lewis Center, Ohio 43035.

Immediately after the burial, the family invites all to a Celebration of Life Luncheon at The Jessing Center, Pontifical College Josephinum, 7625 N High Street, Columbus, Ohio 43235.
