Marian A. Daines

Marian A. Daines, age 97, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away Friday, April 18, 2025 in Cedar Park, Texas. She was born July 21, 1927, in Franklin County, Ohio, the daughter of the late Carrel and Eleanor (Stump) Paster.

She graduated from St. Mary High School, class of 1945. During and post high school Marian modeled for the flagship Lazarus Department store. Later in life she worked as executive secretary for the City of Columbus, Department of Public Utilities.

Marian married Robert E Daines (originally from Plain City, Ohio) in 1948 and they had a wonderful life together for 61 years. They enjoyed bowling, ballroom dancing, travel, socializing with Marian’s club group of life-long high school friends and Bob’s fellow fire department friends. They lived most of their lives in Columbus Ohio except for several years in Fort Myers, FL.

Preceded in death by husband, Robert E. Daines; and son, Robert A. Daines (Cyndi) of Westerville OH; survived by daughters, Lisa A. Smith (Alan) of Raleigh NC and Nancy E. Galla (Don) of Lago Vista, TX; grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 25 at 1 p.m. at Forest Grove Cemetery, 8270 Cemetery Pike, Plain City, Ohio.
