María Teresa Chávez Padilla, de 55 años de edad, falleció en paz rodeada de su familia el 29 de septiembre de 2024, después de una larga y dura batalla contra el cáncer. Nació el 17 de junio de 1969, en Aguascalientes, México, y fue precedida en la muerte por sus padres adoptivos, Vicente Espinoza Aldana y Angelita Padilla, y su padre biológico, José Luis Chávez. A Maria le sobreviven su amado esposo, Andres de Leon Cruz; su mamá María de Jesús Padilla; sus hijas, Angelica de Leon y Lizbeth Fernandez; su hijo, Andres de Leon; sus yernos, Cesar Contreras, y Juan Diego Fernandez; su nuera Alicia de Leon y su nieto, Andres Mateo de Leon.

Maria fue una dedicada, hija, esposa, madre, abuela y amiga. Era una mujer de fe, conocida por su fortaleza, dedicación y trabajo duro. María era un miembro activo de la parroquia Santo Tomás Apóstol, tocando muchas vidas con su bondad y generosidad.

**Maria Teresa Chavez Padilla**, age 55, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on September 29, 2024, after a long, hard-fought battle with cancer. She was born on June 17, 1969, in Aguascalientes, Mexico, and preceded in death by her adoptive parents, Vicente Espinoza Aldana and Angelita Padilla, and her biological father, Jose Luis Chavez. Maria is survived by her loving husband, Andres de Leon Cruz; her mother Maria de Jesus Padilla; her daughters, Angelica de Leon and Lizbeth Fernandez; her son, Andres de Leon; her sons-in law Cesar Contreras and Juan Diego Fernandez; her daughter in law Alicia De Leon and her grandson, Andres Mateo de Leon.

Maria was a devoted, daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a woman of faith, known for her strength, dedication, and hard work. Maria was an active parish Saint Thomas the Apostle member, touching many lives with her kindness and generosity.

Calling hours for friends and family are Thursday, October 3, 4 pm-7:30 pm at Egan-Ryan, 403 E. Broad St., Columbus, OH. Mass of Christian Burial is Friday, October 4, at 10 am at Saint Thomas the Apostle Church, 2692 E. Fifth Ave Columbus, OH 43219. Burial at Resurrection Cemetery.
