Margaret "Peggy" Jaros passed away peacefully in her sleep Friday, March 12th. She was 90 years old. Born in Toledo, Ohio she moved to Newark, Ohio in 1938 and attended Blessed Sacrament elementary and St. Francis DeSales high school. In 1952 she graduated with a B.S. in education from the College of St. Mary of the Springs (now Ohio Dominican University). Peggy taught on U.S. military bases in Okinawa, Newfoundland, and Spain. She later went on to complete an M.S. in library science from the University of Kentucky and became the librarian at the Fairborn (Ohio) Public Library. In 1972 she married Andrew Jaros and moved to Portland, Oregon where she enjoyed subbing in libraries all over the city. Later they moved to Port Angeles, Washington to be closer to her sister Catherine Galuska. In 2016 Peggy moved back to Columbus following the death of her sister, Catherine. She enjoyed being close to family here. She is preceded in death by husband, Andrew, sister and brother-in-law Catherine and Edward Galuska, brother and sister-in-law Robert and Jane Mathy and nephew Michael J. Miller, Jr. She is survived by sister Joan (Michael) Miller, nieces Barbara Law, Julia Miller, Kathy Holbrook and nephews Joseph (Teresa) Mathy and Robert Mathy. Our family would like to offer our sincerest thanks to the staff at Danbury Senior Living for their compassionate care. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Michael Catholic Church, Worthington, Ohio on Saturday March, 27th at 10:00 a.m. The burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
