Margaret “Peg” Kimball, age 90, passed away Monday July 20, 2020. Born in Van Wert, Ohio daughter of the late Eugene and Mabel (Brown) Kintz. Also preceded in death by her husband, Tom Kimball; siblings Theresa Humrickhouse, Jack Kintz, and infant sister Roberta Kintz. Survived by her children, Greg (Sonya) Kimball, Jeannie (Stan) Uchida and Beth (Kyle) Cross; grandchildren Chris, Sarah, Patrick and Danny; numerous other relatives and friends.
Peg received her Bachelor of Science Degree, magna cum laude in 1952 from St. Mary of the Springs (Ohio Dominican College) with a major in Biology and a minor in Chemistry and Psychology. She was a Medical Technologist with certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathology (MTASCP). Peg worked at Mt. Carmel Hospital as head of Clinical Chemistry and as a student instructor of Chemistry and Phlebotomy from 1952 – 1958 and as a Medical Technologist for St. Luke Convalescent Center from 1973 – 1986. She finished her career working for Dr. Thomas Willard from 1986 – 2002.
Peg was a longtime active member of Our Lady of Peace Church where she served on many church ministries including the funeral ministry and St. Vincent de Paul Society. She also was a volunteer as a den mother for Cub Scouts. Peg was a loyal OSU basketball and football fan as well as an avid Cleveland Indians fan. She loved her children and grandchildren and held her friends dear.
Friends may call 4-6 p.m. Thursday at EGAN-RYAN FUNERAL HOME NORTHWEST CHAPEL 4661 Kenny Rd. and 10:30 – 11 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Peace Church 20 East Dominion Blvd. where her Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers friends who wish may contribute in her memory to St. Vincent De Paul Society c/o Our Lady of Peace Church or Holy Family Soup Kitchen.
