Loretta Kirwin, age 97, passed away peacefully at her nursing home in Columbus on Sunday April 11, 2021. Born on October 29, 1923 in German Village, she is the daughter of Edward and Magdelena Smith of Columbus. She is preceded in death by her husband Richard A. Kirwin and granddaughter Mary Frances Hoefer. Longtime member of Christ The King Church. She was very happy being a Homemaker and raising her children. She also enjoyed playing cards with her husband on weekends as she was a member in several card clubs. Survived by her sons Thomas J. (Michaela) of Blacklick and William J. (Debra) Kirwin of Amanda and daughter Marie L. (Thomas) Hoefer of Sandusky, OH; grandchildren Nikole Kirwin (Daniel) Goelz, Kaitlin Kirwin, Madison (Ryan) King, Olivia Kirwin and Maxwell Kirwin, great-grandchildren Emma Goelz, Hunter Goelz and Allison Hoy, other relatives and friends. Friends may call 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the EGAN-RYAN FUNERAL HOME 403 E. Broad St. Mass of Christian Burial 9 a.m. Wednesday at Christ The King Church 2777 E. Livingston Ave. Entombment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may contribute in her memory to Ohio Living Hospice or Christ the King Church.
