Lisa was a life long member of the Catholic Church and found much comfort there. She participated in several church activities, including pre-wedding counseling and the church choir. She loved all types of music, participating in band in high school and entertaining with Vaud-Villities in Columbus, Ohio. She was a life-long learner and loved to read. She held a bachelors degree in psychology from the University of Central Florida and a masters degree in statistics from the Ohio State University. She worked as an actuarial for several insurance companies, including Westfield Insurance and Blue Cross/Blue Shield.

She was recognized there with high level awards, including the Order of the Rose and the Order of the Pelican. Her other passion was for teaching reproductive health to young couples who were having difficulty conceiving. She spent a great deal of time educating herself through the Creighton method and in sharing that with couples.
