Larry C. Heckendorn

Larry C. Heckendorn, age 80, passed away on May 16, 2026 at Dublin Glenn Memory Care.  He was born on March 23, 1946 in Berwyn, IL to the late Harold and Adah Heckendorn.  Larry served in the United States Army for eight years including service in Vietnam.  He graduated from The Ohio State University in 1973 where he received a degree in Welding Engineering.  He retired as a laboratory supervisor and instructor in the OSU Department of Food, Agriculture and Biological Engineering.  Larry was active for many years with the American Welding Society, the state 4H welding contest and SOFA.   He is survived by his wife, Barbara Dalton Heckendorn; sons, Daniel (Becky) Heckendorn and Jonathan Heckendorn; grandchildren, Alex and Thea Rose Heckendorn; sisters, Cherry Goszyk and Nancy (Ron) Tannenbaum; nieces and nephews.  There will be a private burial at Union Cemetery.  The family would like to thank the staff at Dublin Glenn Memory Care and Zusman Hospice for their wonderful care of Larry  over the last two years.  Donations in Larry’s memory may be made to Zusman Hospice 1151 College Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43209.
