Kevin Bryan Fergus passed away on Monday evening, October 30, 2023, at the age of 93 in Mt. Alverna Village, Parma, Ohio. Kevin was born on December 2, 1929 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late John J. Fergus and Anna (O’Kelly) Fergus. He attended St. Ignatius High School before graduating from John Carroll University and Law School. Kevin served in the US Army from 1952 – 1954 and received the National Defense Service Medal as well as the Good Conduct Medal during that time. He spent his working career as Controller and Legal Counsel for the US Trotting Association in Columbus, Ohio.
Kevin was known for his devotion and service to his Roman Catholic faith. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus and lecturer at St. Andrew Parish in Upper Arlington, Ohio, as well as a member of the regional Serra Club in Columbus, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Constance L. (Turk) Fergus; his brothers Reverend John Fergus and James Fergus, and a sister Maureen (Fergus) Rice.
Kevin is survived by 12 nieces and nephews, 19 great nieces and nephews, and 8 great-great nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30 on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at Mt. Alverna Village, 6765 State Road Parma, Ohio. Family will receive friends starting at Noon prior to the Mass. Burial will be at the discretion of the family at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon, Ohio.
