Kathleen "Kitty" (Hayes) Davis

Kathleen “Kitty” (Hayes) Davis, age 87, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2025. She was born on April 17, 1938, in Columbus, Ohio.  A devout Catholic, Kitty was educated at St. Catharine's School, St. Mary’s of the Springs Academy (1956) and graduated from St. Mary’s of Notre Dame College (1960).  She raised her family in Worthington, Ohio, where she lived for decades and built a warm and welcoming home. 

Kitty was a devoted wife and mother and especially cherished her role as “Big Mommy” to her grandchildren and great granddaughters.  She is survived by her children Mary (David), William (Nancy), and Michael; her grandchildren Mehgan (Ryan), Jacob (Courtney), Will (Allie), Drew, and Olivia, and her beloved great-granddaughters Blair, Halle, Zoey, and Elyse.  Kitty is also survived by her sister Elizabeth, her brother Michael (Peggy) and their families. 

She is preceded in death by her adored husband William Davis (2008), her parents Henry and Mary Hayes, and her brother Dennis Hayes. 

Kitty had an extraordinary relationship with all of her nieces and nephews and close circle of friends whom she treasured deeply. She was the heart of every gathering—hosting joyful dinners, cooking with love, and making everyone feel at home. Her devotion to family and friends was constant.

A lifelong learner with a passion for history, Kitty also had a great love for travel. She especially treasured her annual vacations to Hilton Head, SC, Duck, NC and Put-in-Bay which brought her joy and unforgettable memories.  Everyone who loved Kitty knew that she was unavailable for 30 minutes every evening while she watched Jeopardy!

Kitty will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those fortunate enough to have shared in her remarkable life.

Calling hours will be on June 17, 2025, from 4pm-7pm at Egan Ryan Northwest Funeral Home, 4661 Kenny Rd. Columbus, OH 43220.  The funeral mass will be held at St. Michael’s Church in Worthington, OH on June 18, 2025, at 10:00 am, with burial services immediately following at Resurrection Cemetery.
