Katherine D. Ryan

Katherine D. Ryan, age 77, passed away June 1, 2025.  She was born on February 3, 1948 to the late Harold C. and Dorothy Smith, Sr.  She was a graduate of Gahanna Lincoln High School and attended The Ohio State University.  Katherine was Director of Training at Swan Cleaners and subsequently worked for the United States Department of Defense where she retired in 2018 after 30 years.  She is preceded in death by her son, Gregory M. Ryan; parents; and sister, Gail Smith.  She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Michael F. Ryan; daughter, Jennifer L. Nelson; son, Jacob M. Ryan; brother, Harold C. (Diane) Smith, Jr.; brother-in-law, Kevin J. (Angie) Ryan; numerous nieces and nephews and her two dogs, Maggie and Marley.  The family will have a private burial at St. Joseph Cemetery beside her son Greg.
