Karen Alyene (Graber) Murnane, 85, from Columbus, Ohio died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on April 6, 2026. Karen lived her whole life in Columbus and went to St. Joseph's Academy where she made lifelong friends. She met the love of her life, Mike Murnane, while in high school. They met at a pizza parlor while on dates with other people. They were married 65 years. She was loved by the students and teachers of Bluffsview Elementary School where she was the cafeteria master chef and known as "The Cookie Lady." Her strong faith kept her active at Immaculate Conception Church since 1970. She was a wonderful, loving grandmother of the "Magnificent 7." She never missed a single event in her grandchildren's lives. She thoroughly enjoyed playing practical jokes on them while taking them out on adventures. She made a great positive impact on their lives and she will be greatly missed by all. Karen was preceded in death by her parents, George and Barbara (McDonald) Graber and her brother, Robert Graber. She is survived by her devoted husband, Michael Murnane, her loving daughters, Kelley (Mike) Funk, Deborah (Steven) Funk, Kathleen (Alan) Troutman, and the "Magnificent 7" grandchildren, Joshua (Christine) Funk, Daniel Funk, Matthew Funk, Annamarie (Luke) Baltzer, Trevor (Rachel) Funk, Samantha (Jaylen) Oden, and Michael Troutman, along with 8 (almost 9) great grandchildren. She cherished her family deeply and left behind a remarkable legacy enriched by love and faith. Karen's warmth, kindness, and unwavering selflessness touched countless lives and left a lasting impact on all who knew her; especially sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, and nephews and many dear friends.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, April 12 from 2-5 pm at Egan Ryan Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 4661 Kenny Rd. Columbus, OH.
