Karen K. Collins

Karen K. Collins of New Albany Ohio died Sunday September 18th, 2022. She was born on November 16th, 1939 to the late George and Helen (Shopbell) Kantzer. On June 12, 1960 she married Bruce Collins with whom she spent 62 wonderful years. A graduate of Timken Vocational High School in Canton Ohio, Karen received her undergraduate degree from Wittenberg University and her Master’s degree from Ohio State University. She taught 2nd grade at Maryland Avenue School in Bexley for 23 years and was beloved by many students. She is survived by her husband Bruce, daughters Jennifer Young (Tim) of Bexley, Kate Bauer (John) of Scottsdale AZ and Beth Lee (Rod) of State College, PA, grandchildren, Colin Young, Quinn Bauer, and Griffin and Meredith Lee, a sister, Linda Newman (Sandy) of Fargo ND, and nieces and nephews. Visiting hours Friday, September 23rd 2022 from 4 to 7 at Egan-Ryan Funeral Home, 403 E. Broad Street. A Funeral Service will take place at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1555 S. James Road, Columbus, where Karen was an active member for 57 years on Saturday September 24th 2022 at 10:00 am. with visitation beginning at 9:00 am. Burial to follow at Maplewood Cemetery.
