Josephine (Jody) Marie Barnett Munhall, devoted wife and mother of ten, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2024, surrounded by her children at home in Worthington, Ohio. She was born in New York, New York on March 20, 1944 to the late Robert, Sr. and Josephine (Horgan) Barnett. She grew up on Long Island, creating her love for the beach, and was the oldest of 10, in a loving Irish Catholic family. She attended Catholic schools throughout and graduated from St. Vincent school of nursing in New York City, where she met Don. After they were married, they moved to Worthington and began their family. Committed to the ideals of her Catholic Faith and Irish Heritage, Jody was truly dedicated to her marriage, children, extended family, and friends. She was a member of St. Michael Parish for 58 years, genuinely committed to stewardship and the faith community. She was a faithful adorer, a school volunteer, and a member of leadership councils, in addition to being involved with Don in The Serra Club of Columbus and Friends of the Josephinum. All who knew her, knew that her most important relationship was with Jesus -- prayer was central in her life, and she actively handed this faith on to her children and grandchildren. Jody was also particularly fond of gardening, reading, taking walks with friends, and enjoying family gatherings. Her light shone like a beacon of love in this life, and by grace will shine even more brightly in the next. Jody was preceded in death by her husband Don, her parents, her son, Brian Vincent, her brother Robert Barnett, Jr., and her sisters Christine Spaletta, and Eleanor (Michael) Devlin. She is survived by her children: William (Beth), Christine Bogue, Anne (Andy) Bott, Joseph (Anna), Martha (Mike) Bogue, Thomas, John Paul (Christine), Matthew, and Kate (Faustin) Weber; her grandchildren: Sarah Sporrer, John (Emily), Daniel and Michael Bogue; Brian (Kenzie) and Brother Nathanael Campion Scarpitti; Noah and Tessa Bott; Katy (Caleb) Bird, Patrick, William, and Maryn Munhall; Grace, Eleanor, Matthew, Bridget, Joseph and Dominic Bogue; Mary Munhall; Lucy, Ignatius, Brendan, Kenneth, and Gianna Munhall; Luke Munhall; Josephine, Augustine, Charles and Vincent Weber; great grandchildren Mary Elizabeth Sporrer, Jane Scarpitti, Adeline, Samson, and Charlotte Bird; brothers: John (Susan) Barnett, Thomas (Marie) Barnett, sisters: Patricia (Gregory) Walsh, Ann (Thomas) Massey, Kate Barnett, and Jane Cammarata (Bernie DelBello). Friends and Family may call Friday from 5-8 p.m. at Egan-Ryan Northwest Chapel, 4661 Kenny Road. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Michael Church, 5750 North High Street. Burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Donations may be made to St. Vincent Haven, (men’s homeless shelter), 115 Wilson Street, Newark, Ohio 43055, www.svdphaven.org or The Servants of Christ Jesus, scjesus.org.
