Beloved mother, grandmother, and aunt, Josepha (Jo) Vasiliauskas passed away peacefully on Monday, February 5, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband Al and grandsons Peter
and Matthew Barretta. She is survived by daughters Reggie Sharpe (Richard), Nikki Barretta, and Eugenia Patton; granddaughters Jennifer Seeley (Dan), Laura Doepper (Scott), and Kristin Elliott
(Adam); 7 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jo was born in Lithuania in 1929 and immigrated to Canada and then to the US. She and her family eventually settled in Columbus in 1964. Josepha was a talented seamstress and cook
who made everyone feel welcome when they came to her home! She loved the outdoors; she reveled in gardening, sunshine, and golfing. A great advocate of exercise, she adored swimming
and walked everywhere until she decided to learn to drive at age 55!
She drew strength from her faith, which was a guiding light throughout her life. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:30 on Friday, February 9th at St Catharine of Siena Church, 500 S. Gould Rd.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Addus Hope Foundation for Capital City Hospice. Their wonderful nurses and aides cared for Jo for over 2 years in her home most
lovingly and respectfully. The link for online donations is Donate (capitalcityhospice.com).
