Joseph T. Regan Obituary

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of our husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Joseph T. Regan, age 91, who passed away April 11, 2025.  Joe was proceeded in death by his parents, Joseph and Frances Regan; son, Joseph D. Regan; grandson, Larry Booth Jr. and great-grandson, Brendan Woosley; siblings, Mary (Vince) Mihalik, Frances Regan, John (Dorothy) Regan and Ann Regan. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Elizabeth “Betty” Regan; children,  Tim (Marta), Jane (Pat) Donovan, Pat (Vicki), John (Shannon), Brian, Katie (Brien) Donovan, and Michael; numerous grandchildren, Jerry Booth, Melissa Booth, Emily Regan, Sean Regan, Cory Regan, Kyle Regan, John Regan, Keely Regan, Molly Regan, Victoria Regan, Stephanie Regan, Amber Regan, Liam Donovan, Emma Donovan, Ava Donovan, and great grandchildren.   Joe was born on April 29, 1933 in Scranton, Pennsylvania.  He graduated from West Scranton High School, class of 1951.  He then graduated from Temple University.   Joe worked for Burroughs Corporation repairing early warning radar towers in the Atlantic Ocean during the Cold War.  He then started working for NCR as a field engineer until retiring in 1993.  Joe was an active and longtime member of St. Mary Magdalene Parish where he was a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Vincent DePaul.  Joe was proud and active in the Columbus Irish Community.  He was a founding member of the Columbus Feis and was a longtime member of the committee of the Dublin Irish Festival.  Joe enjoyed spending his time volunteering in numerous activities and organizations.  He never knew a stranger and always had a joke to share.  Friends may call Tuesday, April 22 from 4-7 p.m. at Egan-Ryan Funeral Home, 403 East Broad Street.  Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, April 23 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalene, 473 S. Roys Avenue.  Burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.  Donations may be made to St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church.
