Joseph Thomas Gillilan, 63, passed away peacefully at home Sunday February 23, 2025. He was born in Columbus, Ohio, September 4, 1961. He is survived by his two loving daughters, Leeanna and Brandy Gillilan, his beloved grandsons Braxton, Camden, & Crew, his caring mother Anne Gillilan (Tartal), & supportive siblings Nancy, Sally, Charles, Paul and Kenneth, nieces and nephews Brittany (Arturo, Gabrielle, Felix, & Alexa) Brian, Nicholas (Gabrielle & Levi), Morgan, Alexandria (Michael), & Katherine, and many cousins, aunts, uncles, & friends. He is preceded in death by his father James E. Gillilan Sr. and his brother James E. Gillilan Jr. Joe was the proud business owner of Joe’s Pizza at 3020 E Broad St., from 1989-2025. As a generational family business owner he was deeply cherished by his loyal customers whom he called friends. He was a parishioner at St Joseph’s Cathedral. He was a man of strong faith, a hard worker, loved spending time with his family, and traveling the world as a pilgrim. Friends may call Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at EGAN-RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 403 East Broad Street. Mass of Christian Burial will Friday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Cathedral, 212 East Broad Street. Burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Donations may be made to St Joseph’s Cathedral, Holy Family Soup Kitchen & Pantry.
